Awal tahun mampu juga dijuluki sebagai awards season karena sederet penghargaan bergengsi, khususnya di bidang seni peran baik televisi dan film, digelar berdekatan. Januari 2016 dibuka dengan Golden Globe, disusul oleh BAFTA dan yg baru saja dihelat merupakan Screen Actor Guild Awards atau SAG Awards 2016.
Digelar pada 30 Januari 2016 silam di Los Angeles, SAG dipandu oleh beberapa aktris papan atas Hollywood yg dipertemukan dalam drama komedi SISTERS, Amy Poehler dan Tina Fey. Penghargaan ini tentunya dihadiri oleh sederet aktor, aktris dan orang-orang yg berpengaruh di bidang perfilman Amerika Serikat.
